Following a “grueling” audition process that required “a skilled singer and dancer,” according to reports, the 28-year-old actress was initially offered the part of Madonna. According to reports, she has beaten the likes of Florence Pugh, Alexa Demie, Odessa Young, Bebe Rexha, and Sky Ferreira. She and her team are “considering and expected to accept the offer” now. However, it has not yet been confirmed.
Madonna’s early years will be the subject of the upcoming biopic, which Universal Pictures will produce and Madonna will direct. The Queen of Pop, who had previously expressed her desire to appear in the film, may be seen here and will “convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer — a human being, trying to make her way in this world. The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going, and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories, and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.”
