Hwang Dong-Hyuk may ask Leonardo DiCaprio to return for Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ Season 3.
Leading man Leonardo DiCaprio may be joining the cast of Squid Game for its third season if the creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk gets his way.
In Netflix’s recent congratulatory press conference in Seoul, Hwang first stated that the series’ second season would not include any significant Hollywood celebrities. “That’s not in the plan, and if the stage changes, maybe in Season 3 – but for Season 2, it is still set in Korea.
Leonardo DiCaprio did say he’s a big fan of ‘Squid Game,’ so maybe if time or chances allow, we can ask him to join the games,” he revealed.

The creator also confirmed that the second season will begin production in 2023 and is scheduled to release in 2024, adding that they have already compiled a list of games for the second season that is better than the previous seasons in quality.
Squid Game took home six of its 14 Emmy nominations, winning Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Lee, Outstanding Directing for A Drama Series for Hwang, Outstanding Guest Actress in A Drama Series for Lee Yoo-mi, Outstanding Production Design for Narrative Contemporary Program, Outstanding Stunt Performance and Outstanding Special Effects in A Single Episode.
