Amazon Prime reveals plans for Nordic reality shows and a movie deal with Nordisk film.
Amazon is adding a local version of its famous ‘LOL’ franchise in Scandinavia, alongside new reality formats Good Luck Guys and ‘Pranked,’ scripted series, and a significant film licensing deal.

On Thursday, Amazon released its new lineup for the Nordic countries, which included several localized reality TV formats—including versions of global reality hit show LOL—as well as new scripted series and a major film licensing deal.
LOL, alongside Amazon, has commissioned four local versions of the hidden-camera show Pranked, produced by ITV Studios. The dating format Sweethearts will be Fremantle’s regional subsidiaries Baluba (Sweden), Monster (Norway), Strong Productions (Denmark), and Moskito in Finland; and linear survival show on an island Good Luck Guys Banijay Nordic production, with Banijay’s Meter Television in Sweden, Mastiff in Denmark and Norway producing. Banijaj is also set to produce in Finland. The show Banijay Productions created Good Luck Guys for the French channel W9. It has been running strong for five seasons now.
Amazon has also commissioned four local versions of the competition show The Bridge. Meter Television, Mastiff, and Metronome will produce the Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish versions. Banijay’s subsidiary Endemol Shine will produce the Finnish version.
On Thursday in Stockholm, Amazon gave event-goers a first look at its upcoming comedy series Toppen. The show stars Sissela Benn, Klara Hodell and Robert Gustafsson. Additionally, the company announced a new three-year licensing deal with Nordisk Film.
Starting next year, Amazon will have streaming rights to Nordisk’s catalog in the region. The catalog includes upcoming international titles such as John Wick: Chapter 4, YA prequel Hunger Games: Ballad of Song Birds and Snakes, and Steven Spielberg’s award contender The Fabelmans.
