Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney–who brought us Going Clear: Scientology and Prison of Belief–is helming this project. Earlier this week, Gibney expressed his enthusiasm for capturing the eccentric CEO on film by announcing this project. He was “hugely excited” to take on such an endeavor! In late 2022, the tech mogul captivated public attention when he disclosed his acquisition of Twitter at a staggering USD 44 billion price tag. Upon his purchase, Musk asserted that he would improve the customer experience of the platform and appease its user base by removing all bot accounts. Jigsaw Productions collaborated with Closer Media, Anonymous Content, and Double Agent to produce a documentary.
Zhang Xin, the Founder of Closer Media, said in a statement: “Now is the moment for a rigorous portrait of Elon Musk, who is undeniably one of the most influential figures of our time. Closer Media is thrilled to join forces with Alex Gibney, Anonymous Content, and Double Agent to examine Musk and his impact on the world.” Jigsaw Films and Gibney are teaming up with producers Jessie Deeter, Stacey Offman, and Richard Perello at the helm of a new film project. Currently, no release date for the movie has been announced.
