Alphas is a sci-fi damatic television show created by Zak Penn and Michael Karnow. The series centers on a group of individuals with amazing superhuman abilities. These individuals are known as “alphas”. A group of alphas work together to prevent crimes committed by other alphas. The series is broadcasted on the SyFy channel and is in association with Universal Cable Productions. The show initially premiered on July 11, 2011. Alphas was recently renwed for a second season that started in July 23, 2012. Alphas follows five unique individuals known as “alphas” led by a neurologist and psychologist Dr. Lee Rosen played by David Strathairn as they investigate criminal cases that were committed by other suspected Alphas. Rosen and his team of alphas all work under the Defense Criminal Investigate Service, a crime investigation unit known as United States Department of Defense. Alphas features David Strathairn, Ryan Cartwright, Warren Christie, Azita Ghanzada, Laura Mennell, Malik Yoba, and Erin Way in association with Ira Steven Behr, Zak Penn, Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein.
