Walking Dead‘ Showrunner to Produce a Horror Series for the Lifetime Network

Lifetime is producing an ‘Omen‘ themed TV series from the former ‘Walking Dead‘ Showrunner.

Lifetime is trying really hard to reinvent themselves as a network. With original series such as ‘Devious Maids‘ and the upcoming ‘Unauthorized Saved by The Bell‘ movie, Lifetime is distancing themselves from cliché drama movies.

Now, in an unexpected twist, Lifetime announces that they are interested in producing a TV series based on the demon child from the ‘Omen’ movies. But, to make the show more interesting, Lifetime has hired the previous executive producer from ‘The Walking Dead‘.

The Lifetime revamp is written and executive produced by former Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara. The series will follow the adult life of Damien Thorn, “the mysterious child from the 1976 motion picture who has grown up, seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist, the most feared man throughout the ages.” [EW]

It may sound hard to believe but, The Walking Dead showrunner, Glen Mazzara will be making a show for the network.

In 2012,Glen Mazzara left ‘The Walking Dead’ after a difference of opinion on where to take the series. AMC released in a press release that “Both parties acknowledge that there is a difference of opinion about where the show should go moving forward, and conclude that it is best to part ways.” Mazzara continued as the series showrunner and executive producer for the remainder of Season 3
