Cinemax’s ‘Banshee’ Leaves North Carolina After Losing Tax Incentives

Date:

Cinemax’s Banshee is leaving to Louisiana after North Carolina decreases film and TV tax incentives.

The first TV series planning to leave North Carolina is headed to Louisiana.

According to reports, Cinemax’s ‘Banshee’ will film the next two seasons in Baton Rouge, Louisiana after North Carolina has pulled the plug on their TV and Film tax incentives.

My sources are telling me that crew members were already told that Cinemax’s Banshee would not return to Charlotte, North Carolina for the next two seasons.  Now today, other sources have confirmed that and new information is coming our way, saying they will relocate to Louisiana for Season 4 & 5. Earlier this month North Carolina decided to eliminate tax credits for the state. North Carolina‘s production credit has been accused of being abused by production companies and Gov. Pat McCrory has called for deep cuts in the program.

Cinemax maybe the first show to leave North Carolina. Other TV shows currently filming in North Carolina include CBS ‘Under the Dome‘, Fox ‘Sleepy Hollow‘, and ABC’s ‘Secrets and Lies‘.
