Fans of the hit TV series ‘Red Band Society’ are signing petitions to bring back Fox’s canceled teen drama.
According to reports, Fox has decided not to order any more episodes of its freshman series Red Band Society.
Red Band Society was expected to be one of the biggest shows of the year. However, with poor ratings and a lack of interest, Fox pulled the plug on the TV series.
The Steven Spielberg-produced Red Band Society had only 4 million viewers and an anemic 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 at 9 p.m., slipping a tad from its Hell’s Kitchen lead-in.
Industry insiders have been skeptical that the concept would be a reliable draw, despite the topicality of the similarly themed book and film The Fault in Our Stars. (“Nobody wants to watch sick kids in primetime,” one top studio chief told us.) [via]
Based upon the spanish drama series Polseres vermelles, the series is a dramedy focused on a group of teenagers living together as patients in a hospital’s pediatric ward.
Cynthia Stillwell Casting, the extras casting director behind the Red Band Society, is currently encouraging fans of Red Band Society to sign a petition to bring the show back on the air.
