ABC is planning ‘Muppet Show’ reboot.
ABC is strongly considering bringing back the Muppets and will shoot a pilot under the title “Muppets 2015”, according to Variety. Here’s the plot of the show “The Muppets excitedly gather at ABC for a meeting about the new Muppet Show. However, the show will not move forward unless Miss Piggy signs on.”
From Variety:
“The Big Bang Theory” co-creator Bill Prady, who spent his early days writing for the Muppets and received an Emmy nomination for co-writing a tribute to Muppets creator Jim Henson, will be exec producing the project. He is co-writing with Bob Kushell (“The Simpsons”), who will serve as showrunner and is also exec producing.
The Muppet Show first aired in the late 1970s and grew in popularity during the late 1980s and early 1990s. But, the Muppets have been extremely popular with several movies, most recently 2014’s ‘Muppets Most Wanted.”
