Get your biker jacket ready, Sons of Anarchy spin-off is coming soon.
Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter is creating a potential spinoff to his long-running FX biker series, which wrapped with series high ratings last year.
Although it is still early on, the follow up will center on the Mayans Motorcycle Club, which played a major role in the original.
According to reports, Sutter is keeping quiet on the details, so questions regarding the time period, and storyline have not been reported.
On the Sons of Anarchy, the Mayans were positioned as a rival California motorcycle club, comprising mostly of Mexican-Americans in the heroin drug trafficking business. The Oakland group was led by president Marcus Alvarez – played by Emilio Rivera – began the series as SAMCRO’s biggest enemy. However, over time the two became business partners.
Sons of Anarchy premiered on September 3, 2008, on cable network FX. The series’ third season attracted an average of 4.9 million viewers per week, making it FX’s highest rated series ever, surpassing FX’s other hits The Shield, Nip/Tuck, and Rescue Me. The season 4 and 5 premieres were the two highest-rated telecasts in FX’s history.
