The Roots remake is now casting a ton of new talent for an 1800s scene filming in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Casting directors are now looking for guys to work on a scene filming in Vacherie, Louisiana. Producers are looking for a ton of extras to play 1800s types. Filming will take place on September 21st and September 22nd.
In addition, casting directors are looking for female models to play prostitute on scenes filming on September 10th in Chalmette/St. Bernard area.
A&E Networks is working on the Roots remake. The new mini-series will be a remake of the classic 1997 miniseries that traced a black family’s history from salvery on to the end of the Civil War. The eight-episode series, which has been in the works since 2013, will air simultaneously on The History Channel, A&E, and Lifetime in 2016.

‘Roots’ Mini-Series Open Casting Call
Now Casting 2 Caucasian Females (Late 20’s-mid 30’s) to work on Sept. 10th on ROOTS as a Prostitute in the Chalmette/St. Bernard Area.
Must be at least 5’6″ and must include your waist and bust measurements because we only have two costumes that are very specific in size.
Must have natural colored hair/no highlights and must be longer than shoulder length. NO VISIBLE TATTOOS** No fake tans*** This takes place in the 1800’s so we are looking for natural women (no physical enhancements/ no fake tans and no work on face.)
Must be comfortable wearing a corset. You will be wearing the long skirts and feathers too. (Think Saloon)
