Job Description

An upcoming psychological thriller titled Tentation is seeking a Director of Photography (DP) for a two-day production in the Whittier area. The film explores themes of desire, repression, guilt, manipulation, and the unconscious through a dark, psychologically driven story. The DP will help establish the film’s unsettling visual language and translate its atmospheric treatment into compelling cinematic imagery.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the filmmaker to develop the visual style of Tentation.
  • Plan and execute cinematography that supports the film’s psychological and dramatic tone.
  • Establish appropriate lighting, framing, camera movement, and composition.
  • Help create the uncanny nighttime atmosphere described in the film treatment.
  • Maintain visual consistency across scenes and locations.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Director of Photography or cinematographer preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cinematic lighting, composition, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to work with dark, atmospheric, and psychologically driven material.
  • Collaborative and creative approach to independent filmmaking.
  • Must be able to work in the Whittier area.
  • Interest in psychological thriller and drama projects is a plus.
