Disney XD greenlights a new series, ‘Lab Rats’ and ‘Might Med’ spinoff.
According to Variety, Disney XD is increasing their number of scripted content. Disney has given series orders to ‘Lab Rats: Elite Force,” a major spinoff off merging TV networks’ hit TV series ‘Lab Rats: Bionic Island’ and ‘Mighty Med’.
Both Lab Rats and Mighty Med are currently filming new episodes but both series will end once their seasons are over, leaving behind Elite Force spinoff.
If you are worried your favorite star is leaving the series, then we have good news. Variety reports that the show will bring the stars of the two series to the spinoff.
“Lab Rats” stars Billy Unger and Kelli Berglund as their characters Chase and Bree. “Mighty Med” actors Bradley Steven Perry, Jake Short and Paris Berelc star as Kaz, Oliver and Skylar.
“Disney XD is bringing together some of its most popular stars to assemble a super-sized series that will appeal to fans of both shows,” Adam Bonnett, EVP of original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide, said. “Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore have been at the helm of delivering event programming for our viewers, and we’re excited that they will continue to develop these imaginative worlds and characters that audiences have come to love.”
Production starts this October on Lab Rats: Elite Force which is scheduled to premiere in 2016.
