Virtual reality is here and Netflix is making it happen.
It has been a huge week for Netflix. First of all, the company announced that they know which shows get people hooked on and why, and now they are bringing the future of television to your living room.
According to a new blog post by Netflix, the streaming library company is now planning on adding virtual reality to their list of features. If you’re planning on getting a Samsung Gear VR, you will soon be able to plug Netflix directly into your face and block out the rest of the world for hours. Binge-watching just got serious.
Starting very soon, you’ll be able to download the Netflix app to your virtual reality machine and start streaming everything that’s been helping you procrastinate for the last couple of weeks.
However, the current offering is not full 3D, Netflix and Oculus, the company behind Samsung Gear VR, are working on fixing that issue in the near future. But, all of these new features come with a price. Aside from the required membership with Netflix, you are also going to need a virtual reality rig if you ‘re going to experience this new wave of entertainment. But unlike other machines that cost hundreds of dollars, the new Gear VR is meant for the everyday person and will cost only $99 when it comes out in November.
