Job Description
A heartfelt student short film is casting a supporting actress to play the role of Mother in an emotional coming-of-age story. Filming will take place in Sarasota, Florida, and the project follows two siblings who use storytelling and imagination to cope with the impending loss of their mother. Blending live-action filmmaking with stop-motion animation, the film explores themes of love, family, resilience, and saying goodbye.
Although the Mother appears in only a few scenes, her warmth and emotional presence are central to the story, making this a meaningful supporting role for an experienced actress.
Job Responsibilities
- Portray the role of the children’s loving and nurturing mother.
- Deliver an emotionally authentic and heartfelt performance.
- Work closely with the director and young cast members during filming.
- Follow creative direction while maintaining professionalism on set.
- Contribute to a compassionate and collaborative production environment.
Requirements
- Female actor.
- Playing age: 40–50.
- Brown hair.
- Brown eyes.
- Fair, light, or tan skin tone.
- Comfortable working with child actors (approximately ages 8–16).
- Previous dramatic acting experience is preferred.
- Headshot and acting reel may be requested during the application process.
