Assistant Director for Stage Production

Job Description

A theatre production is seeking an Assistant Director to support the creative and logistical execution of an upcoming stage play. This role is ideal for theatre professionals who are passionate about storytelling, collaboration, and the rehearsal process. The Assistant Director will work closely with the director, cast, and production team to help bring the production to life while ensuring smooth communication and organization throughout rehearsals and performances.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the director throughout the rehearsal and production process
• Support scheduling, rehearsal coordination, and production planning
• Take rehearsal notes and track creative decisions
• Help facilitate communication between cast, crew, and creative teams
• Assist with script analysis, blocking, and scene development
• Ensure rehearsals run efficiently and according to schedule
• Provide administrative and creative support as needed

Requirements

• Experience in theatre, directing, stage management, or a related field
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with creative teams
• Passion for live theatre and stage productions
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehearsal environment
• Previous assistant directing experience is a plus
