Are you a small business owner and interested in joining Georgia’s growing film industry?
Well, the University of Georgia is creating a new program to help small business owners join the Peach State’s booming film industry.
According to a press release by UGA Today, the University System of Georgia and the SBDC, a unit of Public Service and Outreach, is offering a one-day workshop to help small business owners learn how they can benefit from Georgia’s film industry. In fact, dry cleaners, automobile detailers and caterers are among the businesses film companies need when they are in production.
“There’s going to be a lot of opportunity for people to take advantage of this new, growing industry, which seems like it’s going to stick,” said SBDC Director Allan Adams.
“We’ve already built a wealth of resources and relationships that a lot of our clients can take advantage of readily,” Judiffier Pearson, a consultant with the SBDC office at Clayton State University said. “There’s a big need for a resource like ours to help with business planning and strategic planning and financing and access to capital. All of the same things a non-entertainment related small business in Georgia would need, these companies need the same thing.”
