Job Description

A children’s television program is casting a new co-host for an upcoming contract based in Toronto, Ontario. The production is seeking Canadian performers living with a disability who can bring an authentic, engaging, and confident presence to an on-camera hosting role. This paid co-host opportunity is ideal for talent interested in children’s television and accessible media representation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as an on-camera co-host for a children’s television program.
  • Engage young audiences with an energetic and approachable presence.
  • Deliver assigned material naturally and confidently on camera.
  • Collaborate with fellow hosts, producers, and the production team.
  • Participate in approximately 1–5 filming commitments per month as needed.

Young Jimmie (Ages 7–12) – Principal Role in Bilingual Short Film

Job Description
A bilingual (English/French) dramatic short film titled Tender Rage is now casting for the principal role of Young Jimmie. Filming will take place in Toronto, and the project centers on a queer family navigating emotional complexity, identity, and healing.

Young Jimmie is a central character in this 10–12 minute film. He is sensitive, sweet, and full of hope, navigating an emotionally charged family dynamic. The role requires a young performer who can portray vulnerability and depth in dramatic scenes, including one scene with implied violence.

This is a paid opportunity under an ACTRA Low Budget Tier 3 agreement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray Young Jimmie in a dramatic short film

  • Perform emotionally layered scenes

  • Work closely with the director and cast

  • Be available for scheduled shoot dates

Requirements

  • White male child, ages 7–12

  • Francophone (French-speaking) talent

  • Sensitive and expressive performance style

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
