Mel Gibson Working on ‘The Passion of the Christ 2’

Get ready for a new Passion of the Christ  as is working on a to the Jesus Christ movie.

Mel Gibson and the screenwriter Randall Wallace are currently working on a sequel to which will center on the story of Jesus' resurrection.

According to the , Mel Gibson is currently working on the sequel with Randall Wallace in order to create a follow up to the $600 million feature film.

The Passion was directed by Mel Gibson and featured Jim Caviezel as Jesus Christ. The movie covered the 12 hours of Christ's life before the crucifixion. The rated-R was nominated for three in 2005 and grossed over $600 million in the box office, making it the highest grossing religious film of all time.

Wallace, who was also nominated for a screenwriting for 1995 film Braveheart, says that he has started working the sequel. “I always wanted to tell this story,” Wallace said. “The Passion is the beginning and there's a lot more to tell.”

Wallace added, “The evangelical considers The Passion the biggest movie ever out of Hollywood, and they kept telling us that they think a sequel will be even bigger,” Wallace said.
