Job Description

The IADT short film Lapse in Consciousness is seeking two talented male actors for key roles in a surreal psychological drama exploring the fragile boundary between dreams and reality. The film follows Peter, a young man drifting through life in a haze, as his perception of reality begins to distort after a mysterious television broadcast mirrors his thoughts.

This is an unpaid student production, but food and transport will be provided for all participants.


Job Responsibilities

  • Portray characters with emotional nuance and authenticity in a surreal, introspective narrative.

  • Collaborate closely with the director and cinematography team to bring out the film’s dreamlike tone.

  • Participate fully during filming days and rehearsals.

  • Take direction effectively to capture both realism and abstract emotion.


Character Breakdown

  • John: Male, mid to late 50s. A grounded yet distant figure representing the faded connection between reality and illusion.

  • Peter: Male, early 20s. Drifts through life as if in a dream, his sense of reality slowly unraveling as strange events begin to mirror his inner turmoil.


Requirements

  • Male actors within specified age ranges.

  • Comfortable performing in an emotionally complex and atmospheric short film.

  • Must be available for filming on November 13th, 14th, and 15th.


Compensation

  • Unpaid

  • Food and transport covered during filming.
