ACTRA Background – Period Drama (Two Male Roles)

Job Description
Union background casting for a period drama filming exterior scenes in Toronto. Production seeks two white male performers to portray townsfolk in a late split shoot (goes late but not a full overnight). A brief wardrobe fitting is required prior to filming. This extras casting values authenticity, period-appropriate hair, and reliability on set.

Job Responsibilities

• Attend a scheduled wardrobe fitting before filming

• Wear period costume/hair and maintain continuity throughout the day

• Take direction, hit marks, and support scene action as needed

• Arrive on time and be prepared for a late split shoot outdoors

• Uphold set etiquette and work safely with the crew

Requirements

• ACTRA or AABP members in good standing

• Male-identifying, white; period-appropriate hair that covers the top of the ears

• Neck size 15″–18″; waist size 30″–36″

• Local hire for Toronto; reliable transportation

• Comfortable working outside and remaining on set for extended periods

Compensation

• ACTRA background performer rates per union agreement

• Paid fitting as applicable; standard meals and breaks provided

Child Double for Film/TV Scene

Job Description
Youth casting for a child double (photo double/stand-in) on a scripted production. This role will match the size and look of the principal youth talent for an exterior scene in the North Bay area. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the minor at all times. Shuttle transportation can be provided for the child and guardian if needed. Submit via Project Casting with measurements and recent photos.

Job Responsibilities

• Match the lead youth actor’s height, build, and basic appearance for doubling.

• Follow simple blocking and direction from the AD team.

• Maintain continuity and remain set-ready throughout the day.

• Arrive on time with a parent/guardian and comply with all minor set regulations.

• Participate in a quick wardrobe check to confirm sizing.

Requirements

• Boy around 5’0″ and ~85 lbs; close match required.

• Wardrobe sizes: Top Boys Large 10/12; Pants Large 10/12; Youth Shoe 7.

• Parent/guardian present on set; valid work paperwork for minors per local guidelines.

• Local hire for North Bay or able to self-drive; shuttle available for child and guardian.

• Submit name, contact, union status (if any), age, height, weight, and clothing/shoe sizes.

Compensation

• $34 per hour.

Organist and Xylophone Player for Film/TV Scene

Job Description
Urgent musician casting for a featured scene in a scripted production. Seeking an organist and a xylophone player with on-camera presence. Expect a morning wardrobe fitting followed by an afternoon shoot. This is a long day; punctuality and professionalism are essential. New faces only (no prior appearances on this project). Talent may be considered for an upcoming second block of filming.

Job Responsibilities

• Attend a morning wardrobe fitting and remain available through the afternoon shoot.

• Perform or convincingly mime playing the organ or xylophone as directed.

• Take direction well and maintain continuity for camera.

• Arrive prepared for a long shooting day and uphold set etiquette.

• Be available for potential recalls during the next filming block.

Requirements
