As filming in Los Angeles hit record lows, Georgia’s film industry is booming. There are numerous reasons for why this is happening including the state’s film tax credit system, Pinewood Atlanta Studios, The Walking Dead and the recently created Georgia film Academy.
What is the Georgia Film Academy?
The pilot certification program created by Georgia Film Academy features two semester-long courses. “The first is more classroom based, though it includes hands-on experience with industry standard equipment, and during the second-course students will spend a semester on-set of actual film and television productions.”

• The execution of their daily tasks and duties.
• Set-up and striking instruction gear used by GFA1 instructors.
• Inventory and staging process of the instruction co-production partnership equipment packages and instructional packages.
• Cleaning and prep of equipment and vehicles in the GFA co-production partnership fleet.
• Yearly inventory process for the GFA, including operating the RTP (Rental Tracker Pro) equipment database system.
• Help maintain a safe and tidy work environment at all GFA facilities and locations.
• Assist GFA instructor in monitoring students during sanctioned GFA training exercises.
