‘Balls Up’ Starring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser to Begin Filming in Queensland.
“Balls Up,” featuring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser, is set to start filming this month at Village Roadshow Studios in Queensland, Australia.
Directed by Peter Farrelly, known for “Green Book,” the comedy boasts a screenplay by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the writers behind “Wolverine” and “Deadpool.”
Screen Queensland announced that the Amazon MGM Studios and Skydance production is expected to inject approximately $64.8 million into the Queensland economy. The project will employ around 250 local cast and crew members and will engage numerous small businesses.
The plot centers on two American marketing executives who, after being fired for losing a client sponsorship, decide to use their free tickets to a major soccer match. Their ensuing drunken antics result in them being pursued across the country.
Other notable international productions filmed in Queensland include Ron Howard’s “Eden,” “The Bluff,” and “Good Cop/Bad Cop.”
Producers for “Balls Up” include Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, alongside Andrew Muscato, Paul Wernick, and Rhett Reese.
