The synopsis for the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars spin-off movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, has just been released just a few months prior to the release of the movie.
According to Lucasfilm, the picture will take place several years prior to Han meeting Luke and Obi-Wan.
“Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.”
Solo: A Star Wars Story will star Alden Ehrenreich as a young version of the film’s title character, and will also feature Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover (as Lando), and Chewbacca.
The movie will be directed by Ron Howard after the previous directors quit over reported “creative differences”. While a trailer has not been released, Howard did confirm production wrapped last October.
