The sequel to Warner Bros’ hit movie IT would be returning to the Toronto/Port Hope area to shoot this summer.
According to Omega Underground, It: Chapter 2 is expected to begin principal photography on June 18th and stage work to take place at Pinewood Toronto Studios.
Filming could wrap this October to November. Port Hope has doubled as Derry in the original and the idea is likely to film scenes during the summer break, in case they want to shut down roads and buildings for scenes of the movie. Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård is assumed to return as Pennywise the clown.
Casting for the adult roles have not been announced. But, the first chapter was a giant success for Warner Bros/New Line Cinema. The movie earned $700 million worldwide on a budget of $35 million.
Screenwriter Gary Dauberman is set to write the sequel’s screenplay.
The studio has slated It: Chapter 2’s release for September 6th, 2019.
