Casting Call for “Rutka: A New Musical”

About the Musical:
“Rutka: A New Musical” is an evocative indie-rock musical set to make its world premiere. Set in 1943 Poland within a Jewish Ghetto, the story revolves around Rutka, a teenager whose diaries document her everyday experiences—ranging from adolescent dilemmas to the harrowing realities of war. Based on the true-life reflections in Rutka Laskier’s notebook, the musical explores themes of hope, resilience, and resistance amid the backdrop of one of history’s darkest times.

STANISLAWA & OTHERS

Her life is marked by an enduring mischievousness, a profound connection with the youth, and a dedication to sharing truth and joy—the legacies left by Rutka.
  • Vocal Requirements: Strong singing ability; should have a soulful voice capable of folk/indie rock styles. Ability to mix/belt desired but specific range not set for this role.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in theater, particularly in musicals, is highly preferred.
