Comedy Immersive Theatre Show Casting ASAP in West Hollywood.

CHARACTERS:

BARRY (mid 30s-40s) is a British Trust-Fund boy. He ran away from the family’s estate when he was 18 after being caught in a rather conspicuous position with a goat. He joined the circus for a while and has since been hoping from city to city shagging anything and everything while racking up huge hotel bills. He’s a larger than life gentleman who would have been a Conservative politician in Westminster if he wasn’t so bloody lazy. He has no tact in conversation and subtlety is not in his vocabulary. He is an extremely likeable and charming individual who could “sell snow to the Eskimos!” Think Matt Berry in anything he’s ever been in…but mostly his character Lazlo in ‘What We Do In the Shadows.’

At the start of the first evening he spots Veronica from across the rooftop pool. Soon they will meet and a fractious love affair will begin…as will the greatest love story ever told.

* Strong comedic performer with a good singing voice needed.

VERONICA (mid 30s) is a cabaret singer with her best days behind her and a bottle of gin in front of  her. She claims to have sung with the best: Sinatra, Bassey…Lauper. These days she hangs around the bar at a Hotel in West Hollywood talking about her heady days on the circuit to anyone that will listen…and even to those that won’t. She’s been in love many times but her heart has been broken just as much. She is a Diva through and through and will perform from her endless repertoire at the drop of a hat…or the downing of a vodka.

She finds love (again!) when she meets Barry at the hotel. Over the course of the  4 nights there will unfold a tumultuous love affair involving music, a proposal and the surprise visit from a clown called Bozo.

* Strong comedic performer with a good singing voice needed.

BOZO (30’s, American) is a professional clown. He grew up in the circus and has travelled the country several times over in his relatively short life. He’s a deep and serious individual which can be problematic being a clown. His dream is to work in a bank but he never gets passed the first interview stage…because he’s a clown. Essentially, he wants to be taken seriously but generally  people just laugh at him.

The only person that never laughed at him was Barry. And he has tracked him down to the hotel to profess something to him. Something he hopes will be reciprocated and perhaps give him the confidence to become what he always wanted to be: a bank teller.

* Strong comedic performer with a good singing voice needed.
