Casting for Leading Roles in Short Film

Job Description:

HMW Casting and Slick Films are seeking two young female actors for leading roles in an upcoming short film. We are looking for talented individuals to portray the characters Maya and Amira. This is a paid role with filming scheduled for late September. No acting experience is necessary, and we are considering all levels of experience.

Roles:

1. Maya

• Must be aged 9+ but able to play 7-9 years old.

• Fluent in Syrian or Mesopotamian Arabic.

2. Amira

• Playing 17-19 years old.

• Fluent in Syrian or Mesopotamian Arabic.

Job Responsibilities:

• Portray the assigned character authentically, following the direction of the production team.

• Participate in rehearsals and filming as scheduled.

• Collaborate with other cast members to create a cohesive and compelling narrative.

Requirements:

• Female actors fluent in Syrian or Mesopotamian Arabic.

• Age-specific requirements for each role (see above).

• Available for filming in late September.

• Ability to follow directions and work well with the production team.

• No prior acting experience is required, but all levels of experience are welcome.

Compensation:

Casting Call: Lead Role in Feature Film

Job Description: HMW Casting is excited to announce a casting call for a lead role in an upcoming feature film backed by Film4, BFI, and directed by a BAFTA Cymru nominated filmmaker. We are searching for a Welsh male actor aged 65 or older to portray a character with a weathered, distinguished appearance and a disposition that is gentle, hopeful, and well-intentioned. This is a unique opportunity to bring to life a character that promises to be memorable and impactful.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the director and other actors to bring the script to life.
• Attend all rehearsals and film shoots as scheduled.
• Develop a deep understanding of the character to portray them authentically on screen.
• Provide input and improvisation when called for by the director.
• Participate in promotional activities for the film as required.

Requirements:

• Male, playing age of 65 or above.
• Welsh or with a Welsh connection (Welsh speakers are encouraged to apply, but this is not a requirement).
• A weathered and distinguished facial appearance.
• Must convey a gentle, hopeful, and well-meaning spirit.
• No previous acting experience is necessary; all levels of experience are welcome.
• Must be available for the entire shooting schedule (details to be provided upon selection).
• Ability to take direction and adapt to changes in the filming process.

Compensation:

South Wales Film Casting Call

HMW Casting are currently seeking: 

• Women, Aged 28-35 years olf from the South Wales valley
• Especially seeking women with blonde hair and a distinctive face.
• For a role in an upcoming revenge film set in the South Wales Valleys from BAFTA cymru nominated Director Sion Thomas and Producer Smeon Costello.
• No Acting experience necessary

All roles will be paid

Shooting early November in South Wales.

Applicants must have a good availability.

November 2022 and must be currently based in South Wales.
