Title: Video Producer

Reports To: Senior Video Producer

Salary Range: $55,000-65,000

Purpose:

The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) is looking to hire a Video Producer to join a growing video program at DAGA. The video producer will help connect audiences to the work of Democratic AGs and the importance of this down ballot office through the production of educational, informative, and mobilizing social video content. The ideal candidate will be professional, resourceful, creative, and tuned in to the political video space.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Write, conceptualize, storyboard, produce, shoot, interview, direct, and edit video production work that supports DAGA’s priorities
  • Assist Senior Video Producer with execution of video projects
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure that video content is tailored to organization’s needs
  • Capture footage utilizing our in-house studio (located at DAGA HQ), off-site video shoots, remote recording sessions, and media coverage of AG and committee actions
  • Coordinate with graphic designer and digital strategy team to ensure brand consistency across video program
  • Organize and manage video assets and uploads, as necessary
  • Contribute to and participate in weekly brainstorms and cross-departmental meetings
  • Monitor and apply trends in digital video to DAGA’s online content

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years experience producing, shooting, and editing video content; experience creating video for political campaigns, candidates, or non-profit/issue-based organizations a plus
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Premiere; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with foundation in After Effects a plus
  • Experience with sound mixing and color correction
  • Familiarity Apple software and Macs
  • Experience with cinema cameras and/or DSLRs; experience with Sony cameras (A7SIII, FS5, FX9) a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast moving environment and make changes that reflect the vision of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a team to come out with the best product
  • Ability to turn around projects quickly
  • Comfortable working independently and in collaboration with internal teams
  • Experience packaging/exporting projects for different channels and platforms
  • A sense for storytelling, pacing, and visual design in video
  • Commitment to helping elect government officials who will fight for criminal justice reform, the safety of their communities, public health, abortion access, climate action, immigrants’ rights, and more
  • A good sense of humor and team player spirit

Details:

  • Periodic travel expected when safe to do so (20%)
