Extras Needed for High-End Streaming Series

Job Description
A major streaming series is looking for background talent for upcoming scenes filming in Washington, DC. This high-end production is seeking local performers to fill a variety of extra roles, including business professionals, joggers, tourists, and more. If you’re passionate about being part of a major television project and ready for on-set experience, this is your chance to get involved in an exciting production.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray background roles such as professionals, joggers, cyclists, and tourists

  • Participate in one or more filming days depending on role requirements

  • Attend costume fittings if needed (paid)

  • Work on set for up to 12+ hours per day

  • Follow on-set direction and maintain continuity across scenes

Requirements

  • Must be local to Washington, DC (no travel or lodging provided)

  • Open to adults of all ethnicities, ages, and genders

  • SAG and Non-Union talent encouraged to apply

  • Seeking experienced SAG stand-ins

Compensation

  • All background roles are paid

  • Paid costume fittings when required

Casting Call: Founding Father Lookalikes for VA Lottery Commercial

Job Description:
Now casting for a VA Lottery commercial in Richmond, VA. We are seeking talented local actors with a strong physical resemblance to iconic Founding Fathers. This is a non-union production featuring both lead speaking and non-speaking roles. Talent will portray historical figures in a comedic and engaging commercial.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform as an iconic Founding Father in a professional commercial shoot.
  • Deliver lines confidently for speaking roles (Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson).
  • Portray historical figures authentically in both speaking and non-speaking roles.
  • Participate in a required fitting and adhere to costume and makeup directions.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure a successful shoot.

Roles:

  • Benjamin Franklin (Lead Speaking Role): White male, age 45-70. Stout build, recognizable jowl, sparkling eyes.
  • Abraham Lincoln (Speaking Role): White male, age 40-60. Tall, thin, angular. A thin, reedy voice is preferred.
  • Andrew Jackson (Speaking Role): White male, age 45-75. Wiry with wild eyes, grumpy “get off my lawn” demeanor.
  • George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton (Non-Speaking Featured Roles): White males, age 40-60. Tall, muscular, with prominent noses and features.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Virginia resident and able to work as a local hire in Richmond, VA.
  • Strong physical resemblance to historical figures.
  • Comfortable with self-taped auditions and virtual callbacks.
  • Hair and facial hair can be added; actors should match the build and facial features of the character they are portraying.

Compensation Details:

  • Rate: $550 for a 12-hour session, plus $1,200 usage fee.
  • Additional 20% agent fee if applicable.
  • Usage: Regional TV and digital (Virginia and bordering states), one-year buyout.

Project Description:

“Wolf Play” is an evocative and compelling production that will be part of the Portland Theater Festival 2024. We are seeking talented actors for key roles in this thought-provoking play. The story navigates themes of identity, family, and acceptance, requiring performers who can bring depth and authenticity to their characters.

Casting Roles:

  1. Ash:

    • Description: Late 20s-30s, BIPOC, assigned female at birth/non-binary. A highly skilled southpaw boxer coming to terms with the sudden adoption of a child by her wife, Robin. Tough exterior but sweet and nurturing on the inside. Strong, direct, no BS.
    • Requirements: Actor should be excellent with movement; boxing experience is a plus.
  2. Robin:

    • Description: 30s-40s, female, any ethnicity. Ash’s wife. She adopts a re-homed child from the internet hoping he will fulfill her desire to have a family. Queer. Maternal. Nurturing. Organized. Very emotional.
    • Requirements: Strong emotional range and ability to portray a nurturing, maternal figure.
  3. Ryan:

    • Description: 20s-30s, male, any ethnicity. Robin’s younger brother. Straight. Athletic. Very “male.” Charming. Impulsive. Athletic.
    • Requirements: Actor should be comfortable with boxing.
  4. Peter:

    • Description: 30s-40s, male, any ethnicity. Straight dude on the conservative spectrum. Hetero energy. A little pathetic but funny. Fears the non-traditional.
    • Requirements: Ability to portray a conservative character with comedic undertones.

Compensation:

  • $1,500 stipend or “Special Appearance” AEA rate
  • Local hires preferred. Limited housing available for out-of-town actors.
