‘Ghostbusters‘ reboot is ramping up production in Boston and producers are looking for extras to appear in the new Ghostbusters movie.
Actors, models, and talent in the Boston area, or those able to work/live in Boston, will hve a chance to land an extra role on Sony/Columbia Pictures’ ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot.
‘Ghostbusters’ features Kristen Wiig , Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Chris Hemsworth rounds out the cast as Kevin, the Ghostbusters’ receptionist.
The Boston Herald unearthed the following unofficial plot synopsis for the reboot:
“Wiig and McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.”
Ghostbusters reboot is slated for a July 22, 2016 release. According to Boston.com, filming of the new Ghostbusters has just began.
Ghostbusters film is using the working title of Flapjack and The Ghostbusters reboot plans to shoot the inside scenes in the Boston area and outdoor scenes in New York City.
According to the Ghostbusters reboot casting call, the movie will be filming in Massachusetts all summer long and will wrap sometime in September. ”Ghostbusters” is looking to cast lots of paid extras and will be holding an open casting call next weekend in Boston, Massachusetts.
Actors, models, and talent interested in working as extras on ‘Ghostbusters’ can attend the open call on Sunday, June 28th. No appointments or acting experience is necessary. Check out the details on the flyer below and make sure to bring a photo of yourself to leave with the casting department.

WARDROBE:
It is New York – season is late spring/early fall – no short sleeves, shorts, open-toed shoes/sandals. Please bring jackets/light-weight coats but refrain from any puffy coats.
Color Palette:
Burnt colors – rust, ochre, burgundy, maroon, mauve
Greens – dark jade, moss, hunter
Browns – tans, walnut, dark chocolate
Grays – pearl grey to charcoal
Black is always appropriate for NYC
Please refrain from bringing bright colors, neons, cherry red, hot pink, turquoise, baby blue, cobalt.
Subtle textures and small non-busy patterns would be ideal. NO LOGOS – this includes sports teams.
Always bring your wardrobe clean and hung up, pressed/steamed without hard wrinkles. You are encouraged to bring options so we can mix and match pieces.
I-9 INFORMATION:
Everyone must bring valid, unexpired photo ID i.e. passport / driver’s license to fill out the I-9 on the voucher you will be given on set. You cannot work without presenting identification.
You need to come to set camera ready. Please report to set with clean hair. Women should come with basic make-up.
