“The Killer”: Michael Fassbender Shines as a Cunning Assassin in Netflix’s New Thriller
Netflix has unveiled the inaugural trailer for its gripping psychological thriller, “The Killer.” Adapted from the acclaimed French graphic novel series by Alexis Nolent, this highly-anticipated rendition is helmed by the renowned director David Fincher. It is set to grace both theaters and the streaming platform this autumn.
“Following a fateful close call, an assassin finds himself entangled in a high-stakes international pursuit, a battle he insists is purely professional,” reads Netflix’s film synopsis.
While the trailer refrains from revealing specific plot points, it tantalizingly teases viewers with many heart-pounding action sequences, ranging from intense car chases to gripping hand-to-hand combat.
Michael Fassbender takes center stage as the enigmatic assassin, supported by an ensemble cast featuring Arliss Howard, Kerry O’Malley, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte, Tilda Swinton, Emiliano Pernía, Gabriel Polanco, and Charles Parnell.
Paramount Pictures initially secured the rights to “The Killer” in 2007, with Fincher joining the project in the same year. However, it wasn’t until 2021 that the director decided to bring the venture to Netflix. Filming commenced in the same year.
