Goosebumps 2 is currently in development.
Sony is currently working on a sequel to the Atlanta filmed movie Goosebumps, which should not come as a surprise as the movie was a hit in the box office and on home video. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Sony Pictures will bring back the original movie’s director Rob Letterman and the movie’s screenwriter Darren Lemke. However, Jack Black has yet to sign on, the hope is that he will reprise his role as R.L. Stine.
The first Goosebumps movie made $156.7 million on a $58 million budget, and is scheduled to arrive on Netflix’s streaming service next month. Since there are 62 books in the original “Goosebumps” movie, the filmmakers will have a ton of material to go through in order to create a sequel.
Goosebumps is based on Scholastic’s worldwide best-selling book series, with over 400 million copies in print. Goosebumps starred Jack Black as “Goosebumps” author R.L. Stine, along with Dylan Minnette, Ryan Lee and Odeya Rush.
Goosebumps centered around Zach (Minnette) who unknowingly unleashes magical monsters on the town, he is forced to team up with his new friends to get the ghosts and monsters back where they came from before it’s too late.
