Yunji Hwang

Most of my life in the United States, I always stay with foreign friends, so I can understand diverse ethnic groups and different cultures. I really like to learn and experience new things such as adjusting to new environments and having new friends. I came to the US myself, but I could have many friends because I just learned how I need to behave to make a good relationship with them. I think that having good behavior is very important to be a good actor. They have so much impact on society and people’s daily life, and the actor is the worker who gets people’s attention every day. I want to have my acting which makes people eager to watch the film. I was born and grew up in South Korea, but I graduated college in the US. After I graduated high school, I just came to the US to study abroad. I had great experiences learning about different cultures and languages. I have an associate degree from Santa Monica College with a Communication major. When I just came to college, I focused on learning English for a year. I took a lot of Communication courses such as Interpersonal Communication, Research Method Communication and Introduction of Communication Theory. I graduated from college with a 3.0. I also transferred to the University of California, Davis, so I spent time in the US for 7 years from 2014 to 2021. I just came back to South Korea in 2021. I worked at a restaurant and cafe. I'm taking a semester off, but I'm thinking about graduating from university later. I decided to work in the film industry because I have so much confidence in acting and filming. I don’t have any experience about making a film, but I know how I can move and touch the heart of the audiences in the film. To be a good actor, they need to know how they have a performance which fits their role. They need to perfectly understand the purpose of the film and plots. I want people to easily focus and understand the film from my acting. For instance, I want to have my acting which seems real. I know how I can be immersed in emotion and concentrate on the character. Also, I want to explore my part and understand the character’s thoughts and temperament. I want to try to behave and think like the character not in the filming site, but in daily life. If I can talk about the role of the character, it is easy to memorize the script and deliver the emotion to the audience. Moreover, if the shooting will go smoothly on the set, I must prepare how I will play the role on the day of shooting. I must be ready to perform facial expressions as well as tone and gesture which fit in the play. I think that the actor is the important job which delivers the message of the film and reaches to the people. The actor should be available to play various types of characters, and I know how I can express various characters. I think the most important thing to be an actor is to put the audience in their acting. I want to make them hope to watch the movie. I know how I can deliver the message to the audience, and I want to learn more about the film at this opportunity. I wish to work and have experience through this application. I don’t have any experience, but if I have the talent to be an actor and get this film opportunity, I will work hard to be a good actor. As I’m a member of the work, I’ll stick to my work.
