Verónica Ortiz is a Puerto Rican writer, director, and actress. She completed her bachelor's degree in communications at Syracuse University, where she was awarded Syracuse University Scholar. In 2015, Verónica won the Horizon Award with her short film,Y ya no te gustas.
Following Hurricane Maria, Veronica created the short documentary Candlelight, which premiered as part of a Horizon Award presentation at Sundance 2018.
