About:
Trish Delaney-Brown is a jazz vocalist, songwriter, entertainer and educator who radiates authenticity, joy, and a deep connection with her music and her audience. As the original soprano of ARIA winning a cappella group ‘The Idea of North’, she brought a warmth & grace to stages across the globe, and since her departure has continued to fuse genres like jazz, folk, pop, and even country with her solo and collaborative projects. Described by AustralianJazz.net as "one of our finest," Trish gets to the heart of her material and delivers it with soul and spontaneity. Along with ongoing performances - regular gigs including the Melaleuca Jazz Orchestra; Vocal trio LYHRA; the Trish Delaney-Brown Quintet and her private teaching studio, Trish also tutors voice & performance at Wollongong Conservatorium and Sydney’s Academy of Music & Performing Arts, and is an ABC Jazz Digital artist - her 2017 release ‘The Game’ being shortlisted for the ARIA’s Best Jazz Album 2018. With 3 tracks from her latest EP ‘Pockets’ making the finals in the 2024 Australian Songwriters Association Awards and a live concert album with her vocal trio Lyhra due for release in mid 2025, Trish continues to enjoy creating music that , in the words of USA RARB reviewer Thomas King “first caresses your heart, then your intellect, and finally your soul”.
