Taya Eliza – Monae Brown

My name is Taya Eliza - Monae Brown . I am a photojournalist , artist, community member , visionary from Queens New York redefining how stories are seen, felt, and remembered. My lens has carried me across more than seven countries and sixteen U.S. states, capturing powerful, untold narratives that bridge cultures and challenge perspective. My journey began at the age of 15 in Cape Town, South Africa, where I first recognized photography as both a calling and a responsibility. That same year an image I took while in South Africa earned a Gold Key from Scholastics Art & some of my photographs were published in a book “ An Eight Count on Account of Love “. This was early signal of the impact I was destined to make. Now, 24 years old I stand at the intersection of artistry and purpose expanding my work in photojournalism and communications while mentoring the next generation of creatives. Through my guidance, youth ages 5–20 are not only learning to document their lives, but to see themselves as storytellers, innovators, and global citizens. I do not simply take photographs; I create experiences ,access, visibility, and legacy.
