Stephen Gibbs

I was born in Beaufort, SC. My father was a Marine. Shortly after my parents divorced at age 3, My mother and I moved to Maryland until I was 9 years old. My parents remarried at this time, and we moved to Quantico, Virginia. My father was stationed in Quantico for 3 years then me and my family moved to Chicago. Chicago, IL is where I honed in my basketball and football skills. I also hid a gift of singing from everyone that knew me at the time. My mother knew I could sing and I didn't end up joining the choir at church until I was 24 years old. My father retired from the military when I was 15 and we moved back to South Carolina. I received a football scholarship as an athlete playing offense and defense. I was a wide receiver and a defensive back. I graduated with a major in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice in May of 2008. I worked as a government contractor, installing cat 5 cables for military installations across the U.S. Then I began a career in counseling when I moved to Richmond, Virginia. I was about 30 years old when I moved to Richmond, VA. I continued to sing in the church on an inconsistent level. Then I moved back to South Carolina around the time my father became a preacher. He graduated from the school that Martin Luther King went to. I became the lead singer at his church in Eutawville, SC. I have aspirations for acting, modeling, and singing.
