I am a multidisciplinary artist/ performer and theatre maker of Slovak-Cuban heritage, that grew up in Mallorca, and now based in London. I am a graduate of Musical Theatre from the University of West London, member of Slovak Theatre London, the founder of Maria Who? ( migrant led) my creative platform for developing original performance work. Our devised theatre show Miss Brexit, exploring identity and migration in post-Brexit Britain, was recently highly praised at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I am involved in different community bases companies as a volunteer vocal coach relaxation for members at Clean Break (for women with lived experiences), facilitator in different community theatre/dance/educational companies like Lewisham Youth Theatre, The Jam and Freshwaters. And also collaborating with artists, photographers and creative projects in general. I am producing my project Ritual in you as both my music and workshop that aims to bring my cultures together and welcome others. My music goes from afrocuban soul and experimental sounds created from jam sessions, recording sessions and performances across London, Cuba, Spain and Slovakia since 2023. And the movement-based workshop offers a playful and reflective space for reconnecting with the body, breath, and voice. Drawing on somatic practices, vocal relaxation, and theatre-based techniques, the session invites participants to tune into their physical and emotional presence, using rhythm, movement, and improvisation as tools for authentic expression. I recently did it for the Refugee Week in London and the exhibition ‘Portraits of Slovak and Czech’ form Slovak Theatre in London. My vision is a society rooted in community :)
