If you're reading this e-mail, it's because my dream of being able to play / embody is now the main driving force in my life. So... I'd love to be able to tell you that I've loved the cinema since I was a little girl, that I was immersed in it and that my parents used to take me to Sunday afternoon screenings. But that wouldn't be true. To tell you the truth, I can't quite remember when I really started playing every moment of my life, and when I fell in love with the feeling of disconnection you get in dark rooms, on stage, with the atmosphere of troupes and collectives. But I can tell you why I love acting so much, and why I want to make it my profession. But first, let me introduce myself. My name is Sarah, I'm 19 and I've been living in Paris for 1 year to study acting at the Cours Florent. I grew up in the Lot countryside with my parents, who were farmers. I'd like to describe myself as a creative, sensitive, sunny, positive young woman who loves meeting new people and having adventures. Ever since I was a little girl, I've built my life around my overflowing imagination. Cradled by the countryside, my childhood was spent playing, filming and writing stories. But my dream would be to no longer play in my imagination and alone in the countryside, but to play with a team. And now comes the part where you ask me: “So, why do you want to become an actress?” Well, my desire arose when I realized that my childhood means of expression could touch, help and challenge people. When I realized that what might be difficult to verbalize could be told through a screen. That my story could be used to build characters.
