Meet Sakina Jackson, born in the northern area of Dallas; however, her parents later relocated to the southwest corridor of Dallas, TX, where she grew up. They did not have much, but they had what they needed. Today, Sakina, resides in the DFW area. She has five adult children, and 11 grandchildren. As far back as Sakina can remember she was a fighter for what she wanted or believed she could accomplish. Little did she know how many obstacles she would face in life. In her impressionable teen years her parental foundation imploded, causing her to leave high school and soon after she became a teen mother twice. Sakina did not allow her situation to defeat her. She worked hard to keep her then young family together. Sakina’s father was a chef who worked for several large corporations. Little did Sakina know she would find herself submerge in the culinary industry! Sakina worked an entry level job in Corporate America. She was promoted several times. She obtained her General Equivalency Diploma (GED). She then took a leap and entered college, receiving a degree in Business Management. A few years later she began working as a temporary employee in City Government. She even excelled quickly to Director of Municipal Court. Owning her own business was always her goal. Sakina after 8 years in City Government, Sakina leaped once more and is currently the Founder / CEO of Big Toe Seasonings (BTS), LLC a quality spice company and Maestro’s Culinary Caterers. Sakina can be found cooking and posting on social media using her blends and has gotten the attention of several celebrities such as Grammy award winner Talk show host and actress Sherri Shepherd, Comedienne and actress Luenell, Grammy Nominated Country Girl Band Chapel Hart, and One of Gospel’s Greats Jacky Clark Chisolm of the famous Clark Sisters to name a few. These greats prepared meals on their social media platforms using her seasonings reaching over 1Mil views.
