Orla Gilroy

Dublin-based, Belfast born, Órla Gilroy is a screen actor, voice over artist and writer, with a grounded, authoritative acting presence and a natural neutral Irish accent. Having lived/worked across Ireland, in France, UK, Hong Kong, USA and Haiti, she moves comfortably and authentically between accents incl: Irish, Northern Irish, British, RP, American, European. Her natural casting incl: police, legal, medical, corporate, public-sector professionals, emotionally complex roles, and also understated comedy. Her professional/life experience gives her an instinctive understanding of complex relationships, emotional undercurrents beneath appearances, unspoken relationship dynamics and understated humour. 2026 screen work incls: complex female role in film -co-lead; older driver: DFI Road Safety Campaign for the Northern Ireland government The Gate Films, directed by Michael J. Her debut script, The Ward, has received 22 international film-festival recognitions since October 2025, including two wins, five finalist and five semi-finalist placements, with recognition from Cannes Script Festival, Berlin International Screenwriting Festival, Oxford Script Awards, Cambridge Script Festival and Pageant Film Festival. Based in Dublin, with base in Belfast, London, Europe, Órla is free to travel and holds an Irish driving licence.
