Nolan Miller

I grew up in a small Midwest town situated along the Illinois River. Movies were everything to me. I loved escaping from reality to go into these new worlds that looked vastly different from my farming town. When I was eight years old, I saw something that'd change my life forever. On the tv was a giant radioactive dinosaur who I learned was Godzilla. Upon seeing that, I knew that I wanted to make something like it. I'd spend my time drawing monsters and creating stories around them. I then learned that my soul purpose in life was to create art. In high school, I started educating myself on film, especially after making short YouTube videos when I was in middle school. These passions are what led me to want to pursue film school. During Covid, my high school had a virtual career day where someone in the film department had talked about their experience. It made me more excited, and I was beyond thrilled when I got accepted into my dream school, DePaul University. The knowledge I learned from my education had helped me create my first short film, The Void. I'm excited to share my journey with all of you.
