I was born in the countryside, in a house of creamy yellow plaster. A simple place, built with pink stones that soak up the sun’s warmth, tucked between a small vineyard and a vegetable garden that scents the air with rosemary. In this land of red soil, as red as poplar leaves, olive and oak trees line a dirt path worn into the cobblestones. Here, foals whinny and play inside a wooden fence while my dog watches, leaping around and pretending to be one of them. This is how I learned to live. I am a 22-year-old man, a 'wandering lagoon farmer' from a small thicket surrounded by brackish water. Feeling like Chuck Noland, I decided to follow in the footsteps of Walter Mitty. I choose to take action. I'm done chasing dreams. I want to live them.
