Lucia Argut
About:
Started to be on cameras since 2013, what began as a one time thing became a lifestyle.
I come from Italian and Mexican families.
Commercials, theater, music videos, short films, feature films, tv hosting and movie producing happened naturally, all these on both sides of the border.
I can surely say I have passion for what I do.
This has led me to overcome fears, including the one about the camera…
When I was little, cameras or public speaking seemed like the least of my desires, not to mention I was terrified by them.
Knees trembling and on the verge of a panic attack kind of fear.
Who would’ve said I would later be wanting those experiences myself, out of pure conviction.
I have been reached to promote brands, products, restaurants, food, etc. But when I decide to accept the challenge is only because I really like and believe on the product; it is crucial for me to know what it is I’m recommending to others and knowing it could be working for them.
Being in this industry has led me to know very nice, interesting people.
In this life everything and everyone is a teacher, that is if your ears are open to learn, and I have met many teachers along the journey.
Drama and Romantic Comedy have been the 2 genres I’ve played while acting.
The secret for me has been to enjoy every little thing, every project wether is small or big, giving to both the same amount of passion and respect, pretending is a game and I am a child having fun, and of course if I want to make a difference and to get to the goal, the last thing should be on mind is: “ what are they going to say?¨ .
To care about this last one is the source of many frustrated dreams, fears and remorses.
The moment I understood this was irrelevant, feelings of freedom and possibilities became real.
Before quarantine started, I had for a brief time an Acting Academy in Baja, then I decided to go with the flow and start organizing virtual coaching along Mexico City’s well known actors and musicians, and managed Workshops in San Diego as well with ¨big Hollywood” size actors, some of which have become good friends to me, on both sides of the border.
This journey has felt like a gift to me.
Acting has become a sort of therapy for the soul, I have told this to many of the students I’ve had, that they will see a positive change on themselves, less doubts about their own selves, self-confidence when they enter a room.. as a consequence of living the art of acting (after spending hours of being watched for thousands of eyes in a theater or by the lenses of cameras… it has to have a reward, right? Well, it does).
