Lea McGowan

Lea McGowan began her professional performing career with Houston Ballet at the age of 15 accepted into their training program on full scholarship. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and dance theater from University of Tampa before moving to New York City to continue her modern dance training at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Lea became the featured Ballerina and character artist in Voyage de La Vie Singapore‘s longest running theater circus spectacular. Her solo Show “Now Leasing” won for best costume design, and the Harold Angel Little Devil Award. Lea McGowan first appeared on television competing on America’s got talent and So You Think You Can Dance. Now a member of Sag-Aftra she enjoys portraying New York’s finest on Law & Order, SVU, FBI, Blue Bloods and others, as well as using her special ability skills as a yoga instructor, lifeguard, movement artist (core Zombie on Walking Dead) dancer and Circus artist. In 2025 Lea was honored to join the selected artists in the International Clown festival in China appearing as her own unique characters.
