Kedisha W. Thomas a 29 year old born Trinbagonian is a full time Resident actor at the Tobago Performing Arts Company. The hit 80’s series Turn of the Tide had its remake where she starred as Glenda Moore. In June of 2023 she flew to Canada to participate in Rhoma Spencer’s dramaturge production, Queen of the Road. Ms.Thomas was a 2024 First Citizens National
Poetry Slam Finalist.
Her training began at her alma mater, St. Augustine Secondary in 2008, where she performed at the Secondary School Drama Festival up until 2012, being awarded the certificates, Most Outstanding, Most Promising and Best Supporting Actor. She continues to engage in different aspects of theatre, by playing steelpan and piano and formerly hosting part time dance classes at her aunt’s preschool, ‘Kiddy Early Learning Childhood Center.’ While being a teacher, she got the opportunity to create a section for the Pre-School’s Kiddies Carnival Band in 2017. In that same year she entered the Nostalgic Carnival Competition with her then classmates as Midnight Robbers where they placed second.
The Acting student holds a BFA Degree at the UTT Academy for the Performing Arts in 2019, specialising in Acting.
She is actively a member of the Foundation for the Academic Advancement of Spiritual Baptist Youth. Through this scholarship, she has hosted at their annual dinners and Literary Evenings and is also a participant of their youth segment on Sky 99.5. You may have last seen her in Dr. Efebo Willinson’s, Bitter Cassava as Justina, then as Agwe in Broadway successful musical, Once on this Island. In her original piece, In past years Pat’s House’ as Pat Bishop for her One Person Show. Other works are, LaPoncia in ‘The House of Bernarda Alba, Queenie in ‘Two Choices’ and Eva in “The Wine of Astonishment,’ just to name a few. In her final year at the Academy, she performed her Clowning at the Hilton Hotel during the Easter season.
As a young actor, Kedisha is compelled by thoughtful, nuanced theatre in varied aesthetics. She firmly believes in the transformative power of theatre, as a social, political, emotional, and humanistic force. Above all, she is committed to a life in theatre as a means of participating in the artistic dialog that is so vital to the health of any society, and especially ours.
