Kamryn Gaskin

Kamryn Gaskin, known artistically as Ole Soul Kam, is a creative chameleon who blends soulful storytelling with a deep-rooted commitment to community and social good. A New Jersey native and Afro-Panamanian based in Los Angeles, she thrives in collaborative spaces that amplify underrepresented voices and challenge the boundaries of visual media. With a background in entertainment marketing, digital branding, and community organizing, she brings a unique perspective—one that merges artistry with strategy and allows her to connect with audiences in meaningful, lasting ways. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and African American History from The University of Alabama, Kamryn set her sights on deepening her impact in the digital space. She went on to receive her Master’s in Digital Social Media from the University of Southern California, equipping her with the tools to tell stories across evolving platforms. There she wrote, directed and edited a short documentary titled 'Reworked', that explores the need to support the slow fashion movement while portraying the parallels between an antique collector and a designer who turns tapestry scraps into wearable art. Kamryn truly loves to capture the candid joys of life that happens when the rest of the world is too distracted to notice. Her professional experience includes working as a Creative Content Producer for Nike where she created digital ads from idea to execution that celebrated Nike's ethos of fitness and wellness. She spent 3 years at Emmy-award winning design studio Imaginary Forces, as their Digital Brand Coordinator, sharpening her understanding of writing, branding, and visual storytelling. She's written and produced campaigns for shows on Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV and many more. When she's not creating pitch decks and press releases, she's writing poems. She won her first poetry slam in 2025 and loves to perform at local events. With a writer’s heart, a director's eye, and a marketer's mind Kamryn has a strong grasp of narrative development—both in front of and behind the camera. She understands how story drives engagement and shapes perception, giving her an edge in an industry built on authenticity, connection, and creative vision. Kamryn's passion for acting, photography, and directing fuels her intentionality in stories that reflect real, nuanced experiences and celebrate diverse identities. 'Being Barry' would serve as her screen writing and directorial debut, making it a monumental moment for her career as a storyteller. Whether crafting narratives or stepping into character, Kamryn shows up with resilience, adaptability, and an undeniable presence—on set and beyond.
