Juan Diego Rodríguez is a Guatemalan filmmaker with over 20 years of experience in acting, directing, and producing. He has contributed to major film projects such as 10 Kilos, Escobank, Capsules, and Ambiguity: Chronicle of an American Dream. His multidisciplinary background includes work in theater, digital media, and television, with a strong presence in the Central American audiovisual scene. He regularly shares behind-the-scenes content and insights from his filmmaking journey, including clips and updates from his most recent short film Gracias Chino, currently in post-production. As a film and theater coach, presenter, and emcee, Juan Diego has established himself as a versatile creative voice. His work is marked by a blend of humor, social commentary, and urban realism, bringing forward stories rooted in the Guatemalan experience with global resonance. He is currently writing, directing, and producing Gracias Chino, a slice-of-life comedy that explores the absurdities of identity and recognition in a society that often overlooks its artists. With this project, Juan Diego continues to affirm his commitment to Guatemalan cinema and to telling bold, authentic, and human stories.
