Jose Barreiro

Jose Barreiro is a highly decorated retired U.S. Army Ranger (having served the majority of his career in the 75th Ranger Regiment) & Sergeant Major, multiple time Army Combatives champion at many installations and Division Commands, retired professional mixed martial artist and coach; turned professional cover model and actor. At the age of 44 years old, he has had to have a total of 18 operations dealing with orthopedic and neurological injuries (including six spine surgeries, a craniotomy, and two ACL replacements in his left knee) due to military and martial arts/hand-to-hand combatives training. He enjoys attacking life head on while striving to inspire and motivate others to keep pushing and achieving goals and making dreams come true. This is what he did throughout the majority of hismy careers as a leader in the Army and as an MMA, BJJ, and kickboxing coach, and it is what he truly loves most. Having deployed 9 times between both Afghanistan and Iraq, to include the initial invasion of Iraq and the rescue of American prisoner of war, Jessica Lynch, his military awards and decorations include: 3 Bronze Stars Medals (including 1 for Valor), Purple Heart Medal, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 5 Army Commendation Medals, 6 Army Achievement Medals, Joint (Service) Meritorious Unit and Valorous Unit Awards, Meritorious Unit Citations, and many more. He had also been awarded the Army Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Ranger Tab, and multiple foreign parachutist badges. As a martial artist he has won multiple mixed martial arts and submission grappling titles, as well as having coached multiple MMA and kickboxing regional and world champions. Jose began modeling in 2017, doing his first shoot with Michael Stokes. This path eventually led him to begin acting in 2021. Since then he has On the modeling and acting side; Jose has, to-date, been featured on around 100 book covers, been featured in national big brand commercials/ads, numerous true crime television series (such as Snapped, Fatal Attraction, and Storm of Suspicion) and wrapped up shooting a Warner Brothers movie in mid 2024. Jose is also close to completing his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and will start on his Masters in the same. as soon as he secures his bachelors. Though retired from the military, Jose is still contracted to aid in the training and advising of active duty military units; primarily Special Operations units. He also work periodically as a personal security agent and as an agent for state emergency response agencies. With all that Jose has accomplished within his 44 years, he will tell you that it all pales in comparison to what he considers the greatest accomplishments of his life; his successful marriage of over 24 years to his childhood best friend, Andrea (affectionately known to everyone as "Mama"), and being partner to raising their four beautiful daughters. And, if you were to ask him, he's JUST getting started, because he believesthat yesterday's accomplishments mattered yesterday. What truly matters is what someone is going to do today and tomorrow.
